Pak Su remained unmarried and lived in the ancestral home left by Hazim's late grandfather and grandmother. This year, Hazim expressed his desire to fast and celebrate Hari Raya in Malaysia, coinciding with his school semester break. His parents agreed to his proposal. Pak Su Hanafi was thrilled about Hazim's return. Pak Su was a Mathematics teacher at a secondary school in the village.
