Synopsis
Filmed on 16mm with a Bolex, the filmmaker recollects his memory of the common dream described as "Rough & Smooth" that many people share. Descriptions on online forums such as Reddit and Quora include a surface that alternates between spiky and soft, contradicting itself in terms of size and form, often leaving a hypersensitivity of the tongue and skin. Quotes from the online community stand in dialogue with the recollection of the dream, evolving into an essay that reflects on the limitations of shared experiences and the boundaries of language.
