Synopsis
At a time when young British musicians were mixing Punjabi beats with modern, bass-heavy production, they built that sound in makeshift spaces, from garages to unlicensed radio broadcasts and shows far from the mainstream circuit. Alongside the music are family ties, friendship, identity and the search for belonging, against the backdrop of Britain’s shifting culture at the time.
